Directions: La Salle's last voyage was a disaster. He left France with four ships, planning to establish a permanent French colony. However, he missed the mouth of the Mississippi River and ended up in Matagorda Bay, Texas. Use google to find the answers to the following questions.

1. What was the name of the La Salle ship that was recovered?
2. Tell where the ship was located and describe the structure that was built to excavate it.
3. List five artifacts found by the archaeologists.
4. Describe the person whose skeleton was found in the ship.
5. Describe the state of preservation of the ship when she was discovered. Why was it in this condition?
6. Write a good definition of artifact.
7. Suppose that archaeologists 300 years from now discover artifacts that will tell about you and your life. LIst ten items that would help those future researchers understand more about you and your life.

We the People

Answer one of the three questions that follow. Then, respond to three other people's comments.

LEAP/iLEAP

We will be LEAP/iLEAP testing this week. Good luck! Do not worry. You will do a great job! Get plenty of rest and eat protein in the mornings before school. Be sure to bring some healthy brain food for your snacks! Peanut butter is great. Lemonheads and peppermints are also something you can bring that is recommended during testing. As far as testing, you many want to bring extra pencils or a small sharpener for your seat. BRING something to READ. You are fabulous!!
